This policy explains what information we collect through cobalixnetwork.com, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
2. Information we collect
When you use our comparison form, we typically collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your address or Eircode, used to check which suppliers serve your area
- Details of your current supplier and property type, where provided
- Any additional information you choose to include in the message field
- Technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies (see Section 8)
We do not ask for financial account details, PPS numbers or payment card information through our comparison form.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Match you with electricity, gas, broadband or bundle options relevant to your address and usage
- Contact you by phone, email or SMS about the comparison you requested
- Progress a switch on your behalf, where you decide to proceed
- Maintain records required for regulatory and audit purposes
- Improve the accuracy and usefulness of our comparison service
4. Who we share it with
We share your details only with suppliers relevant to the services you asked us to compare, so that they can prepare a quote or process a switch. We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share your details with suppliers unrelated to your request.
We may also share limited information with service providers who support our operations, such as IT hosting or customer support tools, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
5. Our legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit our comparison form, and, where a switch proceeds, on the basis that processing is necessary to perform that switch on your behalf. Where we retain records for compliance purposes, we rely on our legitimate interest in meeting regulatory obligations.
6. How long we keep it
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to deliver the comparison and switching service, and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle any follow-up queries or complaints, in line with applicable record-keeping requirements. Data no longer needed for these purposes is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, including the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your data, where applicable
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
